To increase the available habitat and increase the distribution of wildlife throughout their range, wildlife water guzzlers have proven to be especially helpful to improve big game numbers of numerous wildlife species, allowing wild animals to live and thrive, in an otherwise marginal habitat.This book details the planning, development, and construction of a new wildlife water guzzler in the rugged remote Rocky Mountains of the Western United States. While many animals and birds visited the guzzler during Year 1, the amazing prevalence of moose, which might be near the highest density in all of North America, led to the naming of the guzzler as Moose Haven.After completing construction of the Moose Haven wildlife water guzzler, two separate game cameras monitored the site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During the 22 weeks of monitoring the guzzler site, over 8,000 pictures were taken of wild animals, both large and small, as well as numerous birds. These images were carefully sorted by week and downselected based on the best pictures taken during each weekly period and are shown in this book. Additionally, in the book, the unique wildlife behavior caught by the game cameras will be explained, and biological summaries of the animal and bird species seen will be provided.This book is written to engage the reader with an appreciation for wildlife habitat enhancement and restoration. Additionally, it is hoped that the reader will experience the excitement of the discovery of checking game cameras and the fun of unearthing and sighting different species in their native habitat.
